On the 30th June 2021, Lancashire-based software testing consultancy ROQ celebrated its 12th birthday with a virtual birthday party doubled up as a fundraising event for Trinity Hospice, Blackpool.
ROQ is an organisation built on a strong set of core values, which underpin everything it does from ensuring its employees are happy at work and consistently delighting its clients, to taking pride in giving back and supporting community projects and charities.
With some creative thinking from the ROQ Community Ambassadors, they linked ROQ’s 12th birthday celebrations with a charity event for Trinity Hospice. As ROQ employees turned their hands to a spot of balloon modelling during the virtual birthday party, the ROQ virtual balloon race went live.
What better way to celebrate our 12th year than bringing the ROQ community together with a virtual double celebration of ROQ and Trinity Hospice. We are taking part in their £50 challenge and the charity balloon race is part of our fundraising activities
Trinity Hospice is a charity close to my heart, providing specialist end of life care for adults and children who have life threatening or limiting illnesses and I’m thrilled that their £50 fundraising challenge has been so fantastically embraced by the ROQ family
Sarah Jane Riggott, Head of Employee Engagement and Wellbeing at ROQ
The ROQ Virtual Balloon Race page opened on ROQ’s birthday (30th June) for balloon purchases, with balloons costing £3 each and taking flight on Friday 30th July.
You can purchase as many balloons as you like, and they can be tracked daily with a leader board of how far balloons have travelled… The winning balloon will be announced on Friday 20th August! “Fundraising is a constant challenge for us, we rely on local people and companies, like ROQ to help meet our £8million funding target to keep our outstanding services free for everyone who needs them.
“We can’t wait to see how much the ROQ virtual balloon race raises, what a fantastic way to celebrate the company’s birthday and raise money for our £50 challenge!” said Janet Atkins, Corporate Partnership Manager at Trinity Hospice.
